The 2024 Australian Payroll Association annual survey highlights the challenges facing payroll teams. 

 

System integration complexity was the highest issue with 37.7% of respondents citing a concern. 

18.8% find their systems is lacking flexible reporting tools.

18.7% have team resourcing challenges. ​

 

​These factors contribute to the potential for payroll errors, which 9.4% of respondents have identified as a challenge. Although lower on the scale, payroll errors can have a significant impact on employee trust and satisfaction, legal
compliance, and the overall financial health of the organisation.
