Mark Jenkins has spent his whole professional life analysing what makes small businesses successful and then teaching others how to do it. He has worked for the Financial Management Research Centre, a specialist benchmarking company, as an analyst and workshop trainer.
Sean Johns has worked in training, sales and management positions in education, funds management, banking and retail travel. Prior to forming Resurg, he held the position of director of franchise with a retail travel group, responsible for 380 franchises nationwide with revenue of more than $650 million a year. Sean brings an acute understanding of small business to his work in Resurg.
Chris Young has 14 years experience in retail business management. He has worked with food retail franchisors such as McDonald’s UK and Boost Juice Bars in both store and regional management.

Mikhail has been performing due diligence, financial analysis and business valuation across various industries for six years. He graduated from the School of Business at the University of Technology, Sydney in 2010 and joined our team as Business Analyst.
Colin has more than 10 years experience in sales and management in the grocery retail businesses in Ireland working with market leaders such as The Boyne Valley Group, Supervalu and Dunne’s Stores. He is passionate about delivering the highest standard of customer service and is an excellent communicator. At Resurg Colin coordinates the delivery of our Margin Managers programs for stock based businesses. Colin’s background in stock control, pricing and procurement combined with his positive and vibrant communication skills and ability to affect change have meant he has quickly become a favourite with both Resurg customers and colleagues alike.
After graduating from St Patrick's Business College with a Diploma of Event Management, Tegan joined the Resurg Group as Office Administrator in 2011. She quickly displayed a no nonsense approach and the ability to achieve results and has become a very important member of the Resurg team. She is now our Project Coordinator and is the primary point of contact for over 400 Performance Group members across Australia and New Zealand. Tegan and her team work to organise the smooth running of over one hundred Performance Group meetings, each year. ‘I really enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that we are constantly driving improvement and looking for better ways to deliver our Performance Group service and look forward to the day that every Performance Group member gets their financials in on time!’ says Tegan.
As a business analyst with Resurg Mohammad brings more than 10 years of experience in software engineering and software development lifecycle. Mohammad has worked in various software industries including banking automation, retail banking and financing, real-time application, content-management solutions and web portals. At Resurg Mohammad works within our Resurg Data Services division where to help develop the popular Resurg dashboard products. Mohammad’s skill in this area is helping hundreds of Resurg clients receive their latest benchmarking results automatically on a monthly basis. ‘To help small business owners receive the same cutting edge data solutions as their large corporate competitors is a real thrill. We are helping them compete against the big players by having the latest data and analysis available at the push of a button’ says Mohammad.
Since joining Resurg in July 2011 clients keep telling us that they love Nakaiya’s positive outlook and can do attitude. Nakaiya is our office administrator which covers just about anything but most importantly reception duties and answering the phone. At only 21 Nakaiya has already packed in a variety of work and life experience. The majority of her work experience has been in retail including managing a clothing retail outlet. This experience has helped her relate to Resurg clients and understand the pressures that small businesses face. In her own time Nakaiya is a talented Dancer . She has also recently travelled internationally including a recent stay of four months in Utah.
Michael Aylen has extensive experience in the retail sector. He manages several of Resurg’s performance groups and conducts our stock-based training workshops, which are important components of our profit improvement methodology. Michael also conducts in-house consulting projects on business improvement. He works with individual owners in their business to understand their specific issues and deliver implementation plans for profit improvement via the Margin Managers @ Resurg. He works with clients such as Mitre 10, CRT and Chemtura.
