Our Approach (The Resurg Methodology)

Resurg works with member-based groups, stock/service franchises and multi-location businesses to improve their profit by tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.

We do this through a research-based methodology we call ‘Review. Learn. Improve.’, which we have developed and proven over 15 years with thousands of business proprietors. It encompasses:

• Review (Business Intelligence and Performance Benchmarking).The establishment of clear, concise and on time reporting of individual business performance is essential to effective decision making. A business owner who understands their results in a timely fashion gains the confidence and clarity on where the opportunities for improvement lie. That’s what Resurg does for its clients. Our team will implement Individual performance reporting to provide true performance management for the network.  Once individual performance reporting is established, network Benchmarking can take place as a fundamental tool to unleash the potential of member businesses based on what is already being achieved by the top performers. The performance of group members across five keys areas — margin, stock/service management, people and space productivity, efficiency, and risk — is measured and the top performers identified. Benchmark Reporting methods are completely customized for clients ranging from once a year professionally bound hard copy reports through to online Dashboards in each business providing real time KPI interactive reporting.

• Learn (Workshops). Resurg’s business education workshops, based on the benchmarking results plus further research with the best performers, tackle any skill deficiencies revealed (e.g. stock management) and teach group members how to use their benchmarking report to drive improved performance.

• Improve (Implementation). Resurg uses a powerful tool, which we call performance groups, to introduce sustainable changes that will improve profit. Ten non-competing proprietors plus an experienced facilitator meet between 2 and four times a year to share ideas, set goals, and review each other’s performance in implementing change. It works. Now with the launch of Resurg Business Advance our services extend to work on an individual basis through ongoing coaching or consulting for those clients who require a more intensive program for change.

Research, through benchmarking, is the foundation of Resurg’s work to help businesses improve their profit. Our work is not based on opinion or being an ‘industry expert’; it is based on benchmarking research on what the best performers in a group are achieving and how they are doing it. We then use this knowledge to transfer the practices of the best performers to other members of the group.
